Two aquatic centres provide plenty of wet and wonderful fun for the whole family. Ice rinks dot the landscape. Bikes and rollerblades find ample open spaces to roll around town. And if racquet sports are more your swing, the city has a number of public tennis, squash and racquetball courts to choose from.
Other urban attractions to keep you active include an indoor adventure playground (with laser tag for you kids at heart), an indoor rock climbing wall, bowling (five- and ten-pin), horseback riding, Exploration Place Museum, Park Drive-In Theatre, go-karts & mini golf, and Noah’s Ark Adventureland.
After Hours
When it's time to pump up the volume or turn down the lights, turn to any one of dozens of exciting adventures in nightlife. Top 40, techno, two-stepping country or electric nightclubs - there's never any trouble finding a place to dance away the midnight hour. Nightclubs in Prince George cater to a variety of musical tastes.
Live music offerings are complemented by a group of dedicated local promoters who regularly bring special events to the city, including: underground blues, out-of-this-world funk from disc-spinning DJs, a down-to-earth folk music series, stadium rock and just about any other type of music being played around the world.
For a more relaxed atmosphere, you might want to unwind at a cozy pub. Local offerings include neighbourhood hideaways, sports bars, Irish-style public houses and laid back northern Canadian retreats. No matter where you go, one thing is guaranteed: you'll always find a smile as wide as the great outdoors. (Dart boards and a pool table are never hard to find, either.)
If you like laughing, hit a comedy club. Pick up some chips - plastic ones, that is - and lay down a wager at a full-service casino. Or, have a ball at one of two local bowling alleys - 5-pin or 10-pin.
Six movie screens in town also provide the option of taking in one of the latest Hollywood blockbusters. Or, for a real treat, relive the past with a trip to the local drive-in movie theatre.
