Prince george nechako aboriginal employment & training assn (PGNAETA)

The Prince George Nechako Aboriginal Employment and Training Association (PGNAETA) provides a wide array of services to First Nation Bands and Urban/Rural Centres in the field of Human Resource Development with new and exciting initiatives aimed at increasing opportunities for Aboriginal People to impact local labour markets. The “Workforce Centre for Excellence” offers services to clients and employers in the areas of career and capacity development, TOWES assessments and Trades. Our services extend to urban and rural citizens residing in Mackenzie, Prince George, Valemont/McBride, Vanderhoof, Fraser Lake, Fort St. James, Burns Lake and Granisle.

Prince George Native Friendship Centre Employment Services

Provides employment assistance to unemployed Canadians living in the Prince George area. This assistance can be tailored to meet the needs and requirements of the individual client, and includes assisted job searching, employment counseling and a client resource centre. All services are supported by the Government of Canada and are offered free of charge.

M Turner & Associates

M. Turner and Associates is an Employment Service Provider who has received funding through Service Canada, to provide Employment Assistive Services to individuals who are unemployed. This includes:
* Employment counseling (including assessments to help with career decision making)
* Job development services, which helps people find jobs and helps employers find employees.
* Regular information sessions on the community services available to help with job searching.
* Labour market information sessions focusing on employment in different industries.
* Workshops to enhance and sharpen Job search skills.
* A job board advertising local and regional opportunities.

C.N.I.B.

Provides a free resource for people whose vision loss is affecting their ability to obtain or maintain employment. CNIB offers services for job seekers as well as community employers.

Educacentre

Assists francophone job seekers in Prince George become more autonomous in a job search by providing all the latest tools that will assist with building on experience, skills and abilities.

Immigrant & Multicultural Settlement Services

The IMSS Employment Assistance Service (EAS) team provides a full range of employment assistance services to unemployed immigrants, refugees and first and second-generation Canadians.

ISTEP

The Immigrant Skilled Trades Employment Program (ISTEP) is a pilot project to help landed immigrants build careers in British Columbia's construction industry and provide employers with skilled trades' workers.

Jump On Board

If you are between the ages of 15-30 and unemployed, let Jump on Board help you be successful in the job market. The goal of Jump on Board is to provide free career development information and job search assistance to youth and young adults. This involves delivering a number of services to clients; employment counselling, job search workshops, resume development, cover letter writing and interview skills.

* Workshops (Offered daily: 1:00 – 3:00) - Facilitated on all aspects of conducting a Job Search
* Career Exploration - Career Assessments, Labour Market Information, Funding Options for training
* Work Experience - Job Creation Partnership, Targeted Wage Subsidy Program, Temporarily Wage Subsidy, Volunteer Opportunities
* Self-Employment (Self-Employment Benefit program) - Opportunity to seek your own business and become self-employed
* Resource Library - Extensive library on various information at your fingertips
* Lounge - Comfortable seating area to read the newspaper, review our resources and look forward to our friendly, enthusiastic job coaches to assist you

Northern Family Health Society

Provides employment services as a part of promoting and helping to achieve a healthy community. The ‘Northern Employment Solutions’ program includes individual support, comprehensive training series’ and extra support for specific employment barriers.

The Source

Provides free-of-charge service to job seekers eligible to work in Canada. The Source is designed to help you seek and pursue job opportunities with modern job search tools and resources.

T.R.A.D.E.S.

Provides a no fee employment assistance service specializing in the trade sector, available to unemployed and under-employed adults and youth. T.R.A.D.E.S also offers no fee services to employers seeking job ready workers.
